Cook County Public Defender

Dana is an Assistant Public Defender with the Cook County Defender Office. Previously, she as an attorney Law Clerk serving in the County Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Outside her official role, she passionately advocates for immigrants’ rights, volunteering at pro bono clinics to assist immigrants who cannot afford an attorney. She received her BA in International Studies from DePaul University in 2015 and a Juris Doctorate from the City University of New York School of Law in 2021. While in law school, Dana worked on federal civil litigation cases that involved constitutional rights issues that impacted marginalized communities.  She also contributes her time to Arab American Family Services, a non-profit located in the south suburbs of Chicago, where she aids in filing various immigration petitions for low-income families. Dania grew up in none other than Little Palestine and is extremely passionate about Chicago and being involved in her community. She obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from UIC Law and her Bachelor's degree from DePaul University.

In her spare time, Dania volunteers with the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago, which is where a lot of her passion lies: animals. She is also (unfortunately) a die-hard Bulls fan.
