        Chicago Legal Assistance 

        Circuit Court of Cook County Legal Help Directory

        For free or affordable legal assistance divided by area of law 

        CARPLS Legal Advice Hotline

        Cook County’s legal aid hotline staffed by lawyers who give free legal advice by phone. They will refer you to a legal aid agency that can offer more help based on your legal issue. 

         Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO)

        ILAO is a web-based resource for legal information about common legal issues. Individuals can search for articles and forms for all types of frequently encountered legal issues spanning 25 areas of law.  Resources are organized by practice area with links to self help tools and online assistance to other legal aid providers. 

         The Justice Entrepreneur Project (JEP)

        The Chicago Bar Foundation’s JEP is a network of independent lawyers committed to making quality legal services accessible and affordable for regular people. Lawyers in the JEP offer fixed fees and flexible representation options to help accomplish this.

        Greater Chicago Legal Clinic (GCLC)

        GCLC provides access to justice for underserved communities in five general categories:  families, immigration, economic stability, housing stability, and environmental law. 

        Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS)

        CVLS provides a network of volunteer attorneys to serve low-income Chicago residents.  

        Muslim Legal Resources 

        CAIR-Chicago

        CAIR-Chicago is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit Muslim civil rights organization registered independently in Illinois. CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group. With a mission to defend civil rights, fight bigotry, and promote tolerance, its Civil Rights Department provides pro bono legal services to Muslims who have faced discrimination as a result of their race, religion or ethnicity. 

        Muslim Advocates 

        Muslim Advocates litigate, educate, and advocate to uphold this country’s promise of equal treatment under the law for all Americans so that American Muslims and all people can live free from discrimination.  

        Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA) 

        Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA) is a charity that funds legal work and programs to defend Muslims against injustice in American courtrooms, prisons, and communities.
