Naheda Zayyad-Hussien

Naheda Zayyad is a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. She began her career in Law as a Clerk for a criminal defense firm and then worked for an environmental law Attorney. Ms. Zayyad moved on to work as a judicial intern for Judge Alexander White and Rita Novak in the law division at the Daley Center. Her career progressed as she became licensed to practice law in the Courts working for the Attorney General’s Office. She quickly enjoyed litigating in the courtroom prosecuting criminal cases. She graduated from the John Marshall Law School and began a career with the State’s Attorney’s Office. Naheda has worked in every area of criminal and traffic law. She has even argued before the 1st District Appellate Court. She was inducted into the Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy which is a Joint initiative of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession and the Commission on Disability Rights. Additionally, she organizes philanthropic efforts for the Arab-American community on behalf of the States Attorney’s Office and serves as president of the MENA and Women’s employee resource groups. Another passion is acting as a mentor to several students interested in going into the legal profession. If you ask her today what her biggest passion in life is, she would undeniably say it is her loving husband Jacoub Hussien and her 9-year-old twins.
